Questionable: FlashCom-Hosting today?

I have just asked me which Provider for Macromedia-Flash Communication
Server would be good choice. I found several FlashCom-Providers by
searching google:

http://media3.net/
http://www.mediatemple.net/
http://www.influxis.com/
http://www.flashcomhosting.com/
http://www.uvault.com/
http://www.moremx.com/

The Prices for a Webspace which supports FlashCom ranges between
10$ to 600$. According to that the Features ranges. So if you take an
cheap one, you will have insufficient bandwith and max. simultaneous
connections to build an rich-internet-application with realtime streaming
sound and video for many people.
Ok, we could pay more and will get more, but is the price worth at the
moment?

...no.

For a developer, the free version is great for coding, but not true QA testing. I can test many users on the one I have at Mediatemple (10), and the bandwidth is fine for what I need. Additionally, assuming you have a client who fronts the money for a full version, they'll be paying the hosting for upwards of 10 users, so it's not your money.

The problem is, for personal stuff, there is just no way. I'm currently developing a Flashcom based app for Central and knowing the above, I'm providing a way for people to "donate" connections. They can input their rtmp address with connections they are willing to donate.

Thanks for your comment.
I hope that FlashCom-Hosting becomes cheaper,
so that also personel, non-commercial applications
will be possible.

I do too. Flashcom is sooooo much cooler than XMLSocket.

You can use <code>code that should be highlightned</code> to highlight code!
Optionally you can use the attribut language="php|perl|java" within the code tag, otherwise
actionscript-highlightning will be used.
